Why did I start this project? Relationships, connecting people was always my passion. I used to organise events for young people, work in business, then in one sisters’ group, which myself and other sisters created, the topic of finding a husband was always actual. And after discussion with the mosque, we realised that it is challenging also for brothers to find a spouse, as we are not living anymore in those close-knit communities like during Prophet’s Mohammed’s ﷺ  times, where everyone knows each other. We live in mixed and quite lonely society nowadays.

Before starting Find Your Spouse project, during one year we did research to understand what’s the best way to help our ummah to increase happy marriage and reduce the number of lonely Muslims in our society. Now, 3 years from the beginning of the project, from the events I can see that participants often do not know who they are looking for, as in the room where are only Muslims who serious looking for a spouse, you cannot say “I am looking for a Muslim spouse” – as everyone present is.

No need to have 100s of chats, meeting people with whom is not interesting and who, you understand, won’t be the right partner for you. In order to avoid all this, first you need to understand who you are, as when you attend meetings with the purpose to meet your future partner, but do not like anyone, you feel like you are unlucky, like you are wasting your time, but you do not know why you do not like them. Our main goal is to help you to find out who you really are, what is important to you in life, and this will help you to find a spouse for yourself.

"They are a garment for you, and you are a garment for them." QURAN – 2:187

We can be the best partner only if we understand the partner, and in order to understand, we need to explore ourselves first.
